JOBS OUTLOOK

The 2030 jobs outlook includes growth as well as displacement

WEF's projected changes cover technology, economic shifts, population changes and the green transition, not AI on its own.

The 2025 Future of Jobs Report projects 170 million jobs created and 92 million displaced by 2030 across several powerful trends, a net gain of 78 million. These figures come from an employer survey and scenario-based estimates, not an official count of future employment.

AI is one of the technologies in the outlook, but demographic, economic and environmental changes are also part of the results. It is therefore misleading to describe all displaced jobs as jobs taken by AI.

RoleOak takeaway: monitor the specific skills employers ask for and where demand is expanding, rather than treating a global forecast as a personal prediction.
